Department of Thoracic Surgery – Beka Shubitidze
Thoracic surgery, also known as chest cavity surgery, involves the treatment of diseases affecting the lungs, trachea, diaphragm, thymus, esophagus, and other organs in the mediastinum.
These organs are most commonly affected by oncological diseases, and timely initiation of treatment is crucial for patient outcomes.
The thoracic surgery department provides diagnostic and therapeutic services for diseases of the lungs, trachea, mediastinum, and diaphragm.
At our clinic, both diagnostic and radical surgeries are performed, using traditional open surgical techniques as well as the thoracoscopic VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery) method. VATS is a modern minimally invasive procedure that allows for quicker patient rehabilitation, with a rapid recovery period, enabling patients to be discharged in the shortest time possible.
